If you are currently not getting the responses that you feel like you deserve on LinkedIn, then you may be reviewing your strategies and tactics with a gigantic question mark over your head. Your target audience is not taking your content seriously and you are not getting the expected traffic to your profile. Although, there is a lot of contributing factors to consider while analyzing your tactics, the foundation of what you are doing is the key to your overall success.Ask yourself a few simple questions:
Do I come off as arrogant? Am I a genius in my own mind? Do I network beyond Social Media? Am I truly genuine when addressing my targeted audience or do I just want to get my point across? Do I spend the extra time to review other professional profiles to provide feedback? Am I a "forum hog" that posts the same content over and over again? Am I giving the people what they really want?

These are some of the questions that you should be asking yourself everyday in regards to social media, especially on LinkedIn. Be careful how you conduct yourself because one incident of you losing your cool or saying something ignorant could spread like a wildfire throughout your professional network.
Other reasons why your targeted audience is not responding to you may be because you are targeting the wrong audience. Ensure that whomever you are sending your messages out to are the right people. If you have absolutely no idea who your target audience is then that should be the first thing that you do. Figure out who you really should be addressing and not who you want to address, it makes a big difference when you are talking about marketing a product or service.
I've also noticed on Linkedin that if your profile is very strong that it can be intimidating to some and they may take you as a threat to their business. So, it may not be entirely your fault why something may not be working out for you. Just always remember to be friendly in your profile, modest and straight to the point. Remember that your LinkedIn profile is not a resume but rather a tool to get you noticed. In addition, customize your profile to give it a unique look, this way visitors will spend more time viewing your content because they appreciate the creativity of it.
